Nicole and Paul’s original wedding date was back in April. When their wedding got cancelled due to covid, just 3 weeks before the wedding we decided to do engagement photos to bring some of the fun back into wedding planning. Nicole knew she wanted a fall engagement session so last November we met at Allaire State Park in Wall, New Jersey to get the most perfect fall engagement photos.
Jenna and Ray were supposed to get married on October 17th at Bear Brook Valley but, like many of my couples, decided to postpone due to Covid. They weren’t planning to do an engagement session when they originally booked since they had already done one and since they also hired me to photograph Jenna’s Bridal Shower (which also got postponed until next year!) Instead, we honored their original wedding date with an engagement style photo session at a gorgeous garden in Staten Island called Snug Harbor.
Carissa, Eric and I took to my favorite beach, (Sea Girt) at sunset Labor Day Weekend. I already shot their engagement session a few months ago. Carissa is a fitness instructor- you have to check out her videos on instagram. They both love fitness so I asked if they would model for me in a beach photo shoot. I was so excited when they said YES! We made sure to schedule at golden hour- the hour before sunset when the beaches were less crowded and the lighting was just perfect!
Wedding photographers love the Princeton University campus for engagement photos and I can see why! The Princeton campus has quickly become one of my favorite locations for Engagement Photos! Jennifer + William were supposed to get married back in June 2020, but Covid had other plans. They rescheduled for August 2020, but, while we wait for that day to arrive, we thought it would be fun to have a little portrait session on honor of their original date.
I met Carissa last June because she was the wedding coordinator for one of my couple’s (Jacie + Logan) wedding. Now she’s getting married! I am so excited to photograph Carissa + Eric’s Oyster point wedding in the spring!
I love photographing engagement sessions! Its a great time to get to know each other and practice before the wedding day. Many of my grooms are amazing and hired a photographer to capture their proposal. But there are many benefits to having an engagement session with your wedding photographer. Apart from the obvious benefit of having beautiful photos, its also nice to get to know each other and meet before the wedding! Its great practice for the two of you to get used to being in front of the camera, and helps you to get familiar with my posing style.
It can be tough to find great winter engagement session locations in the north east. The trees are bare and everything looks dead and barren. But don’t worry- I’ve done all the location scouting for you. Here are my 8 Favorite Winter Engagement Session Locations.
