Lake George NY Engagement Session
A destination engagement session (or a destination wedding, for that matter!) is always a good idea.
If you’ve spent anytime at all on my instagram feed or stories you know that Lake George, NY is one of my favorite places in the world. I started to going to Lake George when I first started dating my husband 12 years ago and now we bring our kids there. Dan’s parents have a townhouse on the lake and we are lucky enough to go a few times per year. I have been trying to build a presence as a photographer in Lake George because I love it so much and there are a number of gorgeous wedding venues up there- The Wiawaka Holiday House, The Sagamore (also a great place to go to dinner!) and The Inn at Erlowest (just to name a few!).
A Love of Lake George
So when Amy reached out to me about photographing her Basking Ridge Country Club wedding next year, we realized during our initial meeting that we had a few things in common. Mainly, we both love Lake George. Amy grew up going to Lake George and recently started bringing her fiancé, Steve on family vacations to the lake each summer. Even more synchronicity- Amy stays 2 resorts down from where we stay! We were literally neighbors on the lake. Lake George may be a small town, but there are hundreds of resorts and rental homes to stay in and the lake itself is huge! I knew I was meant to meet Amy & Steve.
After they booked their wedding with me, it was time to start planning the engagement session and we all knew the perfect place. Of course, it just so happened that we would be at the lake on the same weekend.
We decided to return to the spot where Steve proposed- at The Inn at Erlowest.
Fun Fact: This is also where the Real Housewives of New Jersey stayed when they visited Lake George in season 5. Its where Joe Guidice and Joe Gorga got into that huge fight. Please tell me I’m not the only one that watched that : )
Anyway, more importantly, it is where Steve proposed to Amy, and where we knew we had to go for photos. And I’m so glad we did.
Congratulations Amy & Steve! I am so excited for your Basking Ridge Country Club wedding next year!
