Here are 15 Reasons Why You Should Hire Me
and how together we can create your best wedding day ever
1. Surprise and Delight
Exceeding expectations is the name of the game. I have been known to purchase a floral bouquet to surprise my clients with during their engagement session, hire a stylist and bring her along to a baby shower to style flat lays for me so I can keep shooting, hire an event designer and calligrapher to style multiple invitation suites, create and send my clients a magazine style guide so they look their best for their portrait session and so much more! I can’t give away all my secrets, can I?
2. Just ask my former couples.
I am so honored to share my 5 Star Reviews on The Knot, Wedding Wire, Google and Facebook!
3. We’re in this for the long haul…together.
Photographing a wedding is more than a one day job, which is why it is so expensive. I provide a service that begins the moment you sign your contract. From creating educational content to help you look and feel your best in front of the camera, designing thoughtful welcome gifts, to sending multiple questionnaires and creating detailed timelines so I can be prepared and organized on your wedding day. I credit much of the success of my business to providing a memorable and seamless experience from the moment you sign your contract to the day your album is delivered.
4. I promise to infuse your wedding day with calm.
I can Namaste all day. Drama with your in laws, missing shoes, running behind on the wedding day timeline. No worries. I can keep my cool and get us back on track in no time.
5. I’ve been a bride too.
8 years ago I got married at The Madison Hotel. That’s why its one of my favorite venues today. But I know what its like to be a bride. To not know what to wear for your engagement session. To not understand how much time is needed for photos and to have no idea about good lighting. That’s why I love to help you through the wedding planning process. Plus, my wedding is over and I miss it! Its fun for me to live vicariously through you.
6. I went from bride & wife to mom.
Being a mom and a wedding photographer means I’m able to find the calm in any situation (See also #4 #namaste). I’m also able to create calm. If I can calm a colicky newborn (and keep calm myself), then nothing can phase me.
7. I love Parent Dances and Family Photos
Being a mom also means I photograph the parent dances and family photos like nobody else. I have a son and a daughter and both the mother/son and father/daughter dances get me every.single.time.
8. I always loved weddings!
While I planned my wedding and for awhile after, I was a wedding blogger, stylist and Etsy wedding shop owner. I blogged for Engaged and Inspired, DIY Bride as well as my own wedding website, East Coast Bride.
9. Editorial Recognition
Between my history of styling and photography, I have been recognized by the best blogs and wedding websites in the industry: Martha Stewart, Martha Stewart Weddings, Wedding Chicks, Style Me Pretty, Engaged and Inspired, DIY Bride, Red Oak Weddings and counting! I was also recognized by The Knot, as being in the top 4% of wedding photographers in the world.
10. I play nicely with others.
I consider myself pretty easy to get a long with. This is great for you and me of course, but if you hire me for your wedding we must naturally get along pretty well. Where I think this comes in handy is working with other vendors. Pushy videographer? No problem, I’ll handle it. Stressed out venue coordinator? I’m happy to help.
11. I always see the best.
I am a glass full kind of a girl. This makes it natural for me to easily find the best locations, perfect lighting, and your most flattering angles. I pride myself on seeing the best in people. I promise to show you as your most beautiful, authentic self.
12. I love a first look…but I won’t force you into doing one if you don’t want to!
Many of my couples choose to do a first look with their fiancĂ©. I am all for it! But I also won’t force you into doing one if you don’t want to. A first look is a very personal decision. And personally, I didn’t do one. If I was getting married today, I probably would choose to do one, but at the time, I knew I didn’t want one.
The funny thing is- I actually thought my parents would prefer that I do things traditionally. But the truth is- my mom didn’t know what a first look was. And when she found out that she didn’t have to miss the entire cocktail hour that she paid for, she wondered why we didn’t do one!
If you decide to not have a first look (and even if you do) you can always have a first look with your dad!
13. Education
Before I was a wedding photographer, I was a teacher. Since teaching comes naturally to me, I am able to easily explain things to people that they may not otherwise understand. I love to teach things like lighting and posing. I also prepare you for your engagement session with a Magazine Style Guide created by me.
14. I was trained by the best.
My wedding photographer, Cassi Claire taught me much of what I know today!
15. I’m a hustler, baby.
No, but seriously. I am almost always the hardest worker in the room.
16. Styling Kit
I bring a styling kit to every wedding. To be fair- I bring a lot of stuff to every wedding (a girl’s gotta get a workout in, right?) But seriously, in order to create a consistent style across all the galleries you see on my site, it takes some preparation on my part. I love to mix the unique vibe of each wedding and couple with my signature look and style. This allows me to create the look you hired me get in the first place!
So there you have it.
If you are inspired to work together after reading this post, I would love for you to reach out and email me! Due to corona virus reschedules, dates are currently extremely limited.
If I photographed your wedding already, I would love for you to leave a comment about why you hired me.
xoxo
