Say Yes to the Dress

say yes to the dress

A few months ago, a producer from Say Yes to the Dress reached out to me about using one of my photos on the show. They found me because of my blog so if you are a small business owner and wondering if blogging is dead, let me tell you- it’s not! Anyway, they had a bride, {Kindra, you can follow her here} getting married at the NJ Botanical Gardens at Skyland Manor. If you have followed me for any length of time, you know I shoot there quite a bit so I have a ton of photos from there. The problem was, they needed a photo without any people in it. On a wedding day, I’m really good at getting what is called an establishing shot. Basically an establishing shot is one that sets the scene. An example is a photo of the venue. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel I had a great shot to send them. Luckily, that week, I was there photographing Olivia and Sean’s engagement session and I made sure to get tons of shots of the location. I prepared a gallery of just the shots of the venue and sent it to the producer. Just last week, the episode aired and they used my photo!

It was honestly a dream come true because I used to watch Say Yes to the dress before I was even engaged, over ten years ago! It is Season 20, Episode 6 and it’s called Our Dress Has to Go Viral. You can watch it here, but I believe you will have to log in to your cable account to see it. Thanks so much for reading! It was such an honor to be included in a show I have loved for years.

The Girl Behind the Camera

MEET
KERI

A lover of taking photos and collecting memories since I was a little girl, I received my first film camera the Christmas I turned 14. Forever the entrepreneur, I would create newspapers and fashion magazines to sell in my neighborhood where I grew up. It was my version of a lemonade stand. I guess I was always telling stories.
