Pratt Mansions Wedding
Stephanie and Matthew had an ICONIC New York City Wedding. Stephanie got ready in the bridal suite of The Plaza Hotel, and their ceremony was at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. They rented a vintage taxi to transport us around the city, taking us to Central Park for photos before heading back to their wedding venue, Pratt Mansions which is an an ideal location, located right across the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the heart of New York City. The Harold Pratt House is a pretty unique venue in that during the weekdays, it is actually a New York City private school. Located on the upper east side of New York City, this 5 story historic mansion uses each of it’s different rooms for a variety of purposes on the wedding day. When guests arrived to the venue after the ceremony, the celebrations began on the first floor for cocktail hour. The bride and groom and their bridal party made their grand entrance to cocktail hour (not the reception) down a majestic marble staircase. After cocktail hour, the guests were escorted upstairs for speeches and the sit-down dinner. After cake cutting, everyone went back downstairs for the formal first dances and guest dancing. I can 100% see why Steph and Matthew chose this venue, but unfortunately, it wasn’t their first choice! They had originally booked the. Loeb Boathouse. They were under contract with them and everything when they received a call one day saying the boathouse will no longer be hosting private events. Since then, I believe, they changed their tune again and will now be booking weddings & events in the future. It’s so sad that Steph and Matt had to miss out, but I do think. they were still able to have the Fall NYC wedding of their dreams at a truly perfect location!
